ABOUT US
Our Story
Hamachi rods were first handcrafted in Japan in the 1990s, built for the Japanese domestic market by anglers who demanded more than what was available. By 2005, word had reached Australia — and hardcore anglers targeting Samsonfish, Dogtooth Tuna and Giant Trevally were ready for a rod that could match them. It wasn't long before word spread further. Today, Hamachi rods and reels are fished in over seventy countries worldwide.
We are still a boutique manufacturer. Every blank is still hand-rolled. That hasn't changed, and it never will.
Built for Where the Brutes Live
If there's an exotic destination where the fish are renowned for smashing tackle and bringing seasoned anglers to their knees, that's exactly where Hamachi tackle belongs. We build for the travelling angler — rods compact enough for airline checked luggage and more than capable of the task when they arrive at a once-in-a-lifetime location.
Our team brings decades of combined experience in design, manufacturing and serious fishing. Every new Hamachi model is field-tested to its limits in some of the most extreme fishing destinations on the planet before it reaches your hands.
Why Boutique Matters
Our size is our advantage. Staying small keeps us nimble — fast to produce, fast to test, fast to refine. We bring new designs and materials to market well ahead of competitors who are still sitting in committee meetings.
We pride ourselves on a tradition of innovation, continually redefining what performance tackle can be — for anglers who know the difference and accept nothing less.
The Lifetime Warranty
In a market where many manufacturers struggle to back even a one-year warranty, we are confident enough in our craftsmanship to offer a Lifetime Warranty* on Hamachi rods.
That confidence comes from the way they are built.
Demand the Best. Demand Hamachi.
