The Hamachi Micro Jigger SPJ™ was built for a technique that continues to outfish everything around it — slow-pitch jigging.

Running at 6'7" (199cm) in a two-piece format that closes to a compact 101cm, it pairs an ultra-high-tensile nano carbon blank with a full slow pitch parabolic taper to produce exactly the loading and fall action that slow-pitch demands: a controlled lift, a brief loaded pause, then a tumbling, flutter-dropping presentation that reef fish simply cannot ignore.

The PE 0.5–1.4 (5–20lb) model with 5–22g jigs is the weapon for ultra-light inshore work — snapper over shallow reef, trevally on the flats, light bottom species on finesse gear.

The PE 0.8–2.0 (8–25lb) at 20–60g is the versatile mid-range option that suits the widest variety of reef and offshore targets.

The PE 1.5–3.0 (15–30lb) at 40–100g handles the deeper ledges and heavier micro jig applications — dogtooth tuna territory, yellowtail kingfish at 60–80m, big amberjack over structure. All three are rated for boat use as the primary application, with a capable secondary role on piers & rock platforms.

The nano carbon blank delivers sensitivity that borders on unsettling — the flutter and fall of a 15g jig in 40m of water transmits through the blank with enough clarity to distinguish bottom composition from a following fish. That same blank resists the nicks and guide wraps of everyday hard use far better than traditional high-modulus carbon, which tends to punish you for the realities of fishing.

 

Spin and overhead configurations are both available across all three PE ratings — the spinning models pair best with 3000–5000 size reels (Hamachi Agera 3000–5000), while the overhead / baitcaster models carry a trigger grip reel seat suited to small jig reels in the 100–400 size range
