The Hamachi XOS GT'n'Doggie™ Expedition is the heavy-popper & stickbait end of the GT'n'Doggie flagship range — the rod you reach for when the fish you're targeting is too large and too powerful for anything else in the lineup.

Built using the same high-performance nano technology as the ULC, the Expedition is purpose-engineered for big hardware: large poppers, stickbaits and slugs up to 220 grams, thrown on 50lb to 130lb braid at whatever the ocean puts in front of you.

 

It is backed by our Hamachi Lifetime Warranty and is not a rod you buy to fish light. The range is built in two lengths and two line classes.

 

The 7'6" 3-piece (packing to 82cm) is the boat and rock platform weapon — maximum grunt in a compact package, rated at PE 5–10 (50–100lb) for large GT, Dogtooth Tuna, Yellowfin and Bluefin Tuna, Cobia and Marlin, or stepped up to PE 8–12 (80–130lb) for extreme offshore and rock work where you are targeting trophy-class and monster fish and cannot afford to lose ground.

 

The 8'2" 3-piece (packing to 94cm) adds reach and leverage for anglers working elevated rock platforms, and is the only model in the Expedition range with drone fishing capability — a growing technique for putting lures where boats can't go and casts can't reach. This is not a do-everything rod.

 

The Expedition is built for the boat and the rock ledge — it has no role in the river or the estuary, and it does not apologise for that. The species list tells the story: Large and Trophy Giant Trevally, Billfish, Dogtooth Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Cobia, Tarpon and Sharks.
