OCEAN ARROW KAIYA
The Hamachi Ocean Arrow Kaiya™ — Kai (Ocean) + ya (Arrow), Ocean Arrow — is a purpose-built slow-pitch jigging rod at 5'9" (1.74m) in a 2-piece format that closes to a compact 101cm.
Built on an ultra-high-tensile nano carbon blank, it delivers the finesse and sensitivity of premium high-tensile carbon without the fragility of traditional high-modulus sticks — a rod that feels alive at depth while having the backbone to turn hard-running fish before they reach structure.
It is backed by our Hamachi Lifetime Warranty and comes in four configurations to match the way you fish. The range is available in two line classes and two reel styles.
The PE 1–3 (15–40lb) models work slow-pitch jigs from 40–130g — the lighter, more finesse end of the range, ideal for inshore reef work, shallower ledges and situations where presentation sensitivity matters as much as raw power.
The PE 2–4 (20–50lb) models step up to 80–250g jigs for deeper ledges, heavier structure and situations that demand more grunt on the lift.
Both line classes are available in a spinning version, paired with a 4000–6000 reel — sitting beautifully with 4000 - 6000 size reel — and a casting version with a trigger grip reel seat designed for overhead and baitcaster jig reels. The PE 1–3 cast suits smaller reels in the 8-15 / 100–300 / 1500–2000 sizes.
The PE 2–4 cast steps up to pair beautifully with the 10-20 / 200–500 / 2000 - 3000 size range
The Hamachi team trialled the Ocean Arrow Kaiya across three continents — Dogtooth Tuna of Indonesia, Yellowtail Kingfish and Snapper of New Zealand, and Cubera Snapper of Mexico.
A serious slow-pitch tool that doubles as one of the most capable general boat and bottom fishing rods in its class, equally comfortable drifting bait over structure or working a precision jig in 150 metres of water.
Target species include Snapper, Yellowtail Kingfish, Dogtooth Tuna, Cubera Snapper, Grouper, Coral Trout, Amberjack, Mahi Mahi and Tuna.
