XOS GTnDOGGIE - TRADITIONAL SPEED JIG
The XOS GT'n'Doggie™ Expedition Traditional Speed Jig is the flagship offshore speed jigging platform — and one of the most versatile rods in the entire Hamachi lineup. Purpose-built for traditional speed jigging, it is a butt-joint, full-power rod.
Constructed on our latest nano-carbon blank with a fast-recovery power curve that loads hard on the upstroke and fires back instantly — the mechanical characteristic that allows a skilled speed jigging angler to maintain jig pace over hundreds of repetitions without the fatigue that kills technique.
Where a lot of jig rods stop at one or two techniques, the Expedition Speed Jig earns a primary rating for speed jigging, plus capable secondary ratings for bottom fishing, trolling and livebait. That breadth matters offshore. When the jig bite dies and a troll is the call, or the skipper drops anchor and rigs live baits — this rod stays on deck and works.
Six models made of two lengths and three PE ratings cover the full range of offshore jigging applications: from the
PE 3–8 (30–80lb, jigs to 300g) for mid-range reef and wreck work, through
PE 4–10 (40–100lb, jigs to 400g) for serious pelagic and deep structure, up to the
PE 5–13 (50–130lb, jigs to 500g) Demon slayer — the rod for deep blue-water encounters with Huge dogtooth tuna, large amberjack, trophy hapuku, and big-water tuna.
The bare-butt blank section is deliberate — it enables the arm-tucked fighting position that speed jigging and sustained deep-water battles demand, while the rubber butt gimbal gives you a secure anchor in a rod belt or fighting chair mount when the fish dictates a prolonged fight. Spinning and overhead configurations are both available across all six models.
The rod closes to just 1 metre (3'2") — fits a standard rod tube or large duffel for travel. Tuna, amberjack, cobia, trevally, grouper, Warsaw, hapuku, dogtooth tuna — this rod has a confirmed track record on all of them.
From $1,075 USD.
